Lesson 5 - May 5, 2008
Things we worked on today:
- We tested out our "challenge" question from last week - using the "Repeat" and "Turn 60 Degrees" command to get our Sprite to turn in one complete circle.
- We designed a short program where we created our own background or Sprite.
Please answer these questions:
- What problems did you have?
- Were you able to solve them?
- Did you make any new discoveries?
Challenge: What commands could you write to get your Sprite to move 3/4 of the way around? Please write these commands when you write your comment.

Today We had a challenge to make our sprite go in a complete circle. My partner and I needed a little more time to do it. We also watched to programs from drew on the scratch website!!! One of them was cool cat making a really cool spiral with the whirl efect. The other one his mom made was a person who had the chickenpox.
I'm wondering what verables are???
In Scratch, we had to make a sprite or make a backround. Me and partner decided to make a sprite. We accidently dumped a very, very very light blue. when we went to put our sprite in the backround, the very light blue covered it up. we didn't know what to do so we kept tring to put him in. then we got the teacher, and she saw the light blue! But Ms. Capalbo nor Mrs. Dlott knew how to make it transparent again! The time ran up and class was over.
We learned how to make our own sprite or background. We also tried our challenge question from last week. My partner and I made 2breakdancers eaitng donuts. To get the sprite to move 3/4 of the way around, I would use the command "turn 90 degrees." Then "repeat" command 3 times.
We did something that we had to make our own sprite or background on Monday. For my backgroundi did A mix of white and blue. For my sprite I did a stick guy. i am still wondering what variables are.
In scratch me and Courtney started a backround for our script. We're making a lifecycle of a plant.Next Monday I'm going to make the plant start to grow.
